SPAN meeting (2022-06-28)

The sewerage authorities summoned UEMS and the Residents Association (LHRA) to a meeting. UEMS will start the sewerage repair works soon - together with the subsequent road & drain repairs and landscape repairs, the work will take around 18 months.

1. Contract 1 has been awarded on 28/6/2022 to Emaskang Sdn Bhd for the sewerage network repair. The work will also include the road drainage and road network repair.

a. Work will be carried out in phases based and the target completion of all phases is 28/12/2023

b. The appointed Consultant is Jurutera JLM Sdn Bhd

c. UEMS will issue variation order for this contractor to start the repair work on the overflow sewage lines near the storm drain at the Lake Park soonest, as a priority.

d. UEMS will share with SPAN and LHRA the detailed program plan which will include the location and the schedule for the work. Based on this info, LHRA will be able to inform residents of the affected area so that residents can plan an alternative route to access their houses for the time of the works.

e. LHRA asked for a backup support for example electricity and internet provider or contractor in case of accidental damage done to these infrastructure items to reduce the potential downtime for residents.

2. Contract 2 for the repair of the pump, according to UEMS, the main pump at gate B is fully operational and the repair work is for the small IPS/NPS pump located at the Orchard Park / Jalan Seroja.

a. Target award for the contract to repair the IPS/NPS pump is October 2022

3. Landscape work will also be carried out after the road network and road drainage has been repaired.

4. To start the work for Contract 1, SPAN and IWK require UEMS to obtain a permission to access letter from MBIP since around 30% of the sewage network piping located under the land that belongs to MBIP.
